Watson sets Personal Best time in Toronto

Toronto

PGTFC runner Rob Watson ran a new personal best time on Sunday in his fourth full marathon in less than a year. Watson, coming off a 20th place finish at the IAAF World Athletics Championships in August, was 6th overall on Sunday in a new personal best time of 2:13:28. He was the second Canadian across the line behind Eric Gillis, who ran to a time of 2:11:49. Watson will next be competing at the Canadian Cross Country Championships in Vancouver on November 30th.

Watson tweeted the following after the race, "Great crowds, beautiful weather and a new PB. Today was a good day."

 

In the women's race, local runner Natasha Wodak made a strong marathon debut as she finished in a time of 2:35:15. Lanni Marchant of London, ON ran a new Canadian record of 2:27:59.

Whistler 

On Saturday morning, the Point Grey TFC 'Man Toilets' crushed the rest of the competition in the 3rd annual Whistler 50 Relay. The race was comprised of alternating legs of 8km and 13km through the Whistler Village and trails throughout the area. Leading the team were Dylan Gant, Theo HuntKeir ForsterRyan Huff and Ryan Brockerville. Their overall winning time of 4 hours 33 minutes and 30 seconds crushed the field with the next team coming in at 5 hours and 2 minutes. Members of the relay team will compete at the BC Cross Country Championships this Saturday followed by the Canadian Cross Country Championships on November 30th at Jericho Beach.
