Vancouver - Several Point Grey Track members will be making the trip to Whistler this weekend for the 3rd annual Whistler 50 Relay on Saturday morning. The relay comprises an 8-person format, with alternating legs of 8km and 13km that wind its way through Whistler Village and the surrounding trails.

The team will be lead by Point Grey Members Dylan Gant, Theo Hunt, Keir Forster, Ryan Huff and Ryan Brockerville.

Hunt and Forster are coming off strong performances this past weekend at the 40th annual Vikings Invitational hosted by Western Washington Washington University just south of the border in Bellingham. Forster, a SFU graduate, placed second overall to fellow Point Grey teammate Lucas Bruchet running 31:41 while Hunt, a UBC graduate, followed closely in fourth place, covering the 10km distance in 31:48.

Gant is coming off a half-marathon performance this past weekend in Victoria where he finished 10th overall in a time of 71:52.

Brockerville and Huff will be making their fall debuts this weekend as Brockerville is coming off a successful summer on the track representing Canada at both FISU and the Francophone games in the 3,000m steeplechase. Brockerville holds a lifetime best of 8:38.71 in the steeplechase set earlier in 2013 in Los Angeles. Huff, a distinguished cross-country runner who has placed in the top 25 at numerous National XC Championships adds to the teams depth.

The squad will also be joined by Chris Winter, who representing Canada over the summer at the IAAF World Track and Field Championships and Richard Mosley, another decorated runner, rounding out the team's squad, although not representing Point Grey as club members.

Point Grey Members have comprised the majority of the team the previous two years taking home the titles in both 2011 and 2012 running 4:31:49 and 4:31:51, respectively, for the 80km distance.

The race goes off at 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning. Results will be posted here following the race.
